Gary Echols

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” II Cor. 1:3-4

I have been blessed with a long and full life, rich with both blessings and trials. Through these experiences, I have been equipped to be in a position to counsel with deep empathy regarding a broad multitude of issues.

Education:

  • Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University
  • Pastoral Ministries Degree from Seattle Bible Institute

I utilize the Biopsychosocial Model of counseling applied with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means that because we are body, mind and spirit, who are created in God’s image, our mental health is the result of the relationship between our biological, social and psychological status. This holistic approach is made manageable with many resources through the utilization of CBT. In addition, I also believe prayer and the guidance of God’s word are an effective tool to assist with this therapy. We will collaborate to proceed with goals and methods that are effectively tailored to you and your success at overcoming the difficulties in your life.

Areas of focus:
  • PTSD
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Addiction and substance abuse
  • Personality/mood disorders & trauma
  • Marital/relationship difficulties
  • Family dysfunction
  • Interpersonal deficits
  • Depression

I look forward to and am honored to meet and work with you to see you discover the life you have longed for as the Lord brings effective change to you through therapy interventions.
